PRESTOSPORTS/MBWA WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessie Domes Leads Purchase College

WHITE PLAINS, NY (15 December 2008) – Purchase College junior guard Jessie Domes (Glenwood, NY/Springville) is this week’s PrestoSports/Met Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week award winner. Domes led the Panthers (7-2 overall, 2-0 Skyline Conference) to a 2-0 week.
Purchase defeated the Sage Colleges 71-56 before beating the College of New Rochelle 97-21. After recording her 1,000th point the previous week, Domes scorched Sage for 30 points and eight rebounds. She then finished off the week with a game-high 24 points in a win over CNR.
Purchase will take a break from game action until January.

About the PrestoSports/MBWA Weekly Player of the Week Award
Celebrating its fifth season, the Player of the Week Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the nearly 75 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state area have the ability to nominate one male and one female student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the previous seven days. An esteemed panel of media members votes to select the winners from the nominations. All players who receive votes, but are not named the Player of the Week, are then named to the Honor Roll.
